3. _C_h_a_n_g_e_s__a_n_d__A_d_d_i_t_i_o_n_s
This chapter lists changes and additions new to this release
of IRIS ImageVision Utilities.
3.1 _I_m_a_g_e__V_i_e_w__F_e_a_t_u_r_e_s
Imgview has been enhanced to include features for
sharpening, blurring, adjusting contrast, brightness and
color saturation, negating, rotating and zooming the image.
imgview no longer has the ability to directly edit the
image's color table. imgview also now supports printing,
histogram display, movie looping, multiple windows and
specification of file attributes when saving an image.
3.2 _T_C_L__b_a_s_e_d__s_c_r_i_p_t__i_n_t_e_r_p_r_e_t_e_r
A new TCL based script interpreter, imgtcl, has been added.
This allows batch style scripts to be created, interactive
command line style operation and construction of interactive
GUI tools, without needing the IL development option.
3.3 _P_N_G_,__A_l_i_a_s_,__S_O_F_T_I_M_A_G_E_,__Y_U_V_:__n_e_w__s_u_p_p_o_r_t_e_d__f_i_l_e__f_o_r_m_a_t
ImageVision Utilities (except for imgworks) fully supports
the Portable Network Graphics format (PNG), the Alias and
SOFTIMAGE file formats and a YUV format.
3.4 _R_a_w_:__n_e_w__s_u_p_p_o_r_t_e_d__f_i_l_e__f_o_r_m_a_t
ImageVision Utilities supports access to raw files. See the
iflRaw(3) man page for more details

Both imgview and imgcopy now support appending images to GIF
and TIFF image files.
